Zymar Eye Medicine

Available by prescription only, Zymar® (gatifloxacin) is an antibiotic eye medicine used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis, an infection commonly called "pink eye." It comes in the form of an eye drop and is licensed for use in adults and children over the age of one year.
 
Typically, this medication is used four to eight times a day. The normal course of treatment will last seven days. However, the particular dosage your healthcare provider prescribes will be based on how severe your eye infection is.
 
To ensure your safety, you should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using this drug if you have any allergies, including to medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding.
