Zymar Eye Drops Dosage

When treating bacterial conjunctivitis ("pink eye"), the standard dose of Zymar® (gatifloxacin) begins with one drop in the infected eye every two hours while awake (up to eight times a day) for two days. After that, dosing guidelines call for one drop up to four times a day while awake for five more days. Your healthcare provider will tailor a dosage for the eye drops based on the severity of your infection.
Regardless of the amount of your dose, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before and after using this product. Also, do not allow the tip of the dropper to touch any surfaces, including your fingers or your eyes. Conjunctivitis is highly contagious, and taking precautions such as these can help prevent the infection from being spread to your other eye or to other people.
