Unoprostone Ophthalmic Solution

Available by prescription only, unoprostone ophthalmic solution is a medication used to treat ocular hypertension (high pressure in the eye) and a certain type of glaucoma. It comes as an eye drop that is applied to the affected eye(s) twice daily. There is only one standard dosage of this medicine. Side effects are possible and may include eye burning, dry eyes, and itching.

What Is Unoprostone Ophthalmic Solution?

Unoprostone ophthalmic solution (Rescula®) is a prescription medication approved to lower eye pressure in people who have open angle glaucoma. It is also approved to lower eye pressure in people with ocular hypertension (high pressure in the eye).

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, unoprostone ophthalmic solution may cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
 
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
