As a prescription medication, Tobradex

tobramycin and dexamethasone) is approved for treating certain eye conditions. This medication contains two active ingredients -- an antibiotic (to fight an infection) and a steroid (to reduce inflammation). It comes in the form of a suspension (eye drop) or an eye ointment. Depending on the form used and the severity of the eye problem, dosing can range anywhere from 3 to 12 times a day.
Not everyone can use the eye drops or the eye ointment, so review Tobradex's safety information with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. For example, you may not be able to use Tobradex if you have certain medical conditions, such as
glaucoma or a viral eye infection.
