Ocuflox Medication Information

Ocuflox® (ofloxacin ophthalmic solution) is a prescription eye drop used to treat certain bacterial eye infections, such as corneal ulcers and conjunctivitis ("pink eye"). As a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, Ocuflox works to kill bacteria by blocking DNA gyrase, an enzyme bacteria need in order to multiply.

Most people are able to use this medication without any problems. If side effects do occur, they tend to be mild and easy to treat -- the most common side effect is a short-term burning or discomfort in the eye. However, there are several reactions that you should report to your healthcare provider right away, including persistent redness, worsening pain, or signs of an allergic reaction.
