While most people do not experience any problems while using
Maxidex® (
dexamethasone ophthalmic suspension), certain adverse reactions can occur. Side effects, for example, are possible and include temporary eye problems, such as:
- Burning
- Stinging
- Redness.
In most cases, reactions to this medication tend to be mild and easy to treat. However, contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience more serious problems, such as severe eye pain, red patches on the whites of the eyes, or double vision.
To help minimize your risk of these and other adverse reactions with Maxidex, make sure your healthcare provider has a complete list of all medications you are taking, as well as a complete medical history. By providing your healthcare provider with this information, he or she can be sure this is the right medication for you.
