Video Text
If a leak from the incision in your eye occurs it is usually noticed on the first day after surgery. If it is a small leak, it may be left alone to seal on its own, or it may be treated with a bandage contact lens for a few days. If it is a significant leak, it will need to be stitched closed in the operating room. Wound leaks associated with this procedure occur less commonly today as a result of improved surgical techniques.
