Bromday® (bromfenac ophthalmic solution) is a prescription medicine used to reduce pain and swelling caused by cataract surgery. It comes as eye drops that are applied once a day, starting the day before the surgery and for 14 days after the surgery.
This drug is not available in generic form at this time. Bromday is only available as a brand-name product, which is made by Bausch & Lomb Incorporated under license from Senju Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. It is protected from generic competition by exclusivity rights that are not expected to expire until October 2013. This is the earliest predictable date that a generic version could become available.
