Common Side Effects

Brinzolamide has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials in which the side effects occurring in a group of people using the drug were documented. Based on these clinical trials, the most common brinzolamide side effects (occurring in 5 to 10 percent of people) included:
  • Blurred vision
  • Bitter, sour, or unusual taste.
Other common side effects (reported in 1 to 5 percent of people) included but are not limited to:
  • Eyelid redness or irritation
  • Skin irritation or rash
  • Dry eyes
  • Feeling like there is something "stuck" in the eye
  • Headaches
  • Red eyes
  • Watery eyes
  • Eye discomfort
  • Itchy eyes
  • Runny or stuffy nose.

Final Thoughts

You may experience some or none of the brinzolamide side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried.
Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while using the drug or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be related to brinzolamide, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
