Lutein Drug Interactions

Based on current information, lutein seems unlikely to interact with drugs or other supplements. There are no clearly established drug interactions at this time. However, you should always tell your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and vitamins or supplements.

 

Even though there are no known drug interactions with lutein at this time, it is important to understand that interactions may be discovered in the future.

 

It also is important to understand that lutein is a dietary supplement, and dietary supplements are not subject to the same rigorous testing as prescription medications. Thus, with dietary supplements, the lack of known drug interactions does not necessarily imply that no medications could react with this product.
