Preparing for LASIK Eye Surgery
LASIK is performed on an outpatient basis, meaning that you can go home the day of surgery. For your particular situation, you will be given specific instructions as to where and when to arrive at the laser suite, how to prepare for your laser eye surgery, and what to expect the day of and the days following your surgery.
You should not wear eye make-up on the day of the LASIK eye surgery. Also, do not wear any perfume or cologne. You need to remove your soft contact lenses at least three days prior to the procedure; hard contacts must be removed three weeks in advance. You may arrive at the laser suite in normal, comfortable street clothes.
You will not be able to drive after the surgery, so be sure to arrange for someone to drive you home.
