LASIK eye surgery is a laser procedure that can help correct your vision and eliminate the use of glasses or contact lenses by reshaping the cornea of your eye. Before the actual procedure, a series of numbing eye drops will be placed in your eye and an eyelid speculum will be placed. After the doctor marks your eye with a specially designed marker, he or she will align your eye with the laser and create a flap in your cornea. The laser then reshapes the tissue of your cornea under the flap so that light rays are bent at the correct angle to focus images on your retina.
