Dorzolamide/timolol (Cosopt®) is a medication commonly used in the treatment of ocular hypertension as well as chronic open-angle glaucoma. This medicine, which contains two active ingredients, works by decreasing the amount of fluid the eye produces. This, in turn, reduces pressure in the eye. It comes in the form of an eye drop that is applied to the affected eye(s) twice a day.
Because not everyone can use this drug, inform your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking (including nonprescription products) and about any other medical conditions you may have. For example, in some cases, dorzolamide/timolol can make congestive heart failure or myasthenia gravis worse.
