Dorzolamide Drug Information

Dorzolamide hydrochloride (Trusopt®) eye drops are prescribed to help lower eye pressure in adults and children. Specifically, the drug is recommended for people with chronic open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
 
To help ensure a safe treatment with this drug, dorzolamide's safety information should be reviewed with your healthcare provider before you start taking it. You should also let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver or kidney disease, or have any allergies.
 
The standard dose of this medicine is one drop applied to the affected eye(s) three times a day. If this amount is not sufficient to reduce your eye pressure, you may need to add another medication to your treatment plan. Increasing the dosage of dorzolamide is generally not recommended.
