ciprofloxacin ophthalmic) is a topical prescription medication used to treat certain bacterial infections of the eye, including bacterial conjunctivitis (commonly called
pink eye) and corneal ulcers. It comes in an ointment and a liquid eye drop. It belongs to a class of medications called fluoroquinolones, or "quinolones" for short.
Ciloxan is made by Alcon Laboratories, Inc. The patents for Ciloxan have expired, and Ciloxan eye drops are available as a generic product.
Generic Ciloxan is available as
ciprofloxacin 0.3% ophthalmic solution. Ciloxan ointment is not available as a generic product.
