Cipro for Eye Infection
Available by prescription only, Ciloxan® (ciprofloxacin ophthalmic) is a medication approved for treating certain infections of the eye. Specifically, this medicine is used for treating bacterial conjunctivitis (also known as "pink eye") and corneal ulcers.
Ciloxan comes in the form of liquid eye drops and an eye ointment. It is used many times a day, with the specific dosage depending on the type of infection being treated and which product you will be using.
This eye medication works by killing certain bacteria that cause infections. It does this by interfering with a certain bacterial enzyme that is necessary for the bacteria to grow and multiply.
