Ciloxan Use With Contact Lenses

People who have certain bacterial eye infections may benefit from Ciloxan® (ciprofloxacin ophthalmic). This prescription medication comes in the form of liquid eye drops and as an eye ointment. It is typically used many times a day for several days.

There are some important tips to keep in mind before using this eye medication. For example, you should not wear contact lenses when using Ciloxan, as they can make your infection worse. Make sure to ask your healthcare provider when you may use contacts again.

Also, do not touch the tip of the Ciloxan container to any surface, including your eye. This helps keep the container clean to reduce further spread of the infection.
