A secondary cataract, or clouding of the capsule behind the lens, can occur months or years after surgery and can slowly cause a decrease in vision. It is the most common of all the complications associated with cataract surgery and lens implantation. It can be easily treated with a laser procedure. After the laser procedure, your vision is restored to the level measured before the secondary cataract occurred.
