Are There Any Substitutes for Bromday?
Bromday® (bromfenac ophthalmic solution) is prescribed to adults who have cataract surgery. This medicated eye drop is used to help reduce eye pain and inflammation that can occur with this surgery. However, this medicine is not suitable for everyone.
Are there any substitutes for Bromday? The active ingredient in Bromday, bromfenac, is also found in other medications, including Prolensa® and Xibrom®. Both of these medicines are also approved to treat swelling and pain from cataract surgery.
There are also several other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NDAIDs) eye drops that are used to treat swelling and pain after eye surgery. These include:
? Ketorolac ophthalmic (Acular®, Acular LS®, Acuvail®)
? Nepafenac (Ilevro™, Nevanac®).
