Brinzolamide (
Azopt®) is a prescription eye medication. It is approved to treat high eye pressure in people with
open-angle glaucoma or ocular
hypertension. It comes in the form of an eye drop and is available only by prescription.
As with any medicine, brinzolamide can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience side effects. Most people tolerate it quite well.
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
In clinical studies, the most common side effects of this medication included:
- Blurred vision
- Bitter, sour, or unusual taste.
