Drug Interactions With Bimatoprost

Latanoprost (a medication very similar to bimatoprost) and other eye drops can cause potentially negative drug interactions with bimatoprost. These interactions can decrease the effectiveness of the medicines or cause a precipitate to form over the eye. To minimize your risk for developing bimatoprost drug interactions, you should tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking before starting treatment.

Latanoprost (Xalatan)
Latanoprost and bimatoprost are very similar medications (both used to treat high eye pressure and glaucoma). Interestingly, using them together can make them less effective and may actually increase eye pressure. These medications should not be used together.
 
Any Other Eye Drops
Make sure to separate bimatoprost and any other eye drop by at least five minutes. Taking them closer together could cause a precipitate (a solid material) to form.
