Alcaftadine (
Lastacaft™) is a prescription eye drop approved for the treatment of itching due to eye
allergies (known medically as allergic conjunctivitis). Significant drug interactions between alcaftadine and other medications are unlikely to occur.
As with most eye drops, little of the medication actually reaches the bloodstream and the rest of the body. As a result, alcaftadine is unlikely to affect other medications, and other medications are unlikely to affect it.
However, it is possible that there are currently unknown alcaftadine drug interactions that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, it is always a good idea to include alcaftadine in your list of medications when checking for any interactions. Also, make sure to check with your healthcare provider about any possible interaction that may apply to your particular situation.
