Alcaftadine (
Lastacaft™) is a prescription eye drop approved for treating eye itching caused by
allergies. It is used just once a day.
Just like any medicine, alcaftadine can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medicine will have problems. Some people tolerate it quite well.
Some of the most common side effects of alcaftadine include eye irritations, such as:
- Burning or stinging
- Redness
- Itching.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
